Think ceilis that make your feet complain and folk anthems that everyone seems to know, sitting beside contemporary Irish pop, country and rock. The line-up tends to knit together different generations rather than sort them into playlists, so you might find teenagers and grandparents arguing over who can sing the chorus louder.

Alongside the music there are authentic Irish food stalls, craft traders, cultural displays and family friendly entertainment dotted around the site, so while someone queues for another bowl of stew the kids can try something less loud than a bodhrán. Expect storytelling, dancing and the occasional impromptu session where strangers pretend they have always been best mates.
