Think your baby might already be an undercover bookworm? The Storybarn at Calderstones Park is a cosy play space stacked with a lovely selection of children's books, snug corners and a few playful installations to catch tiny attention spans. Over six weekly sessions small groups of new parents meet with their babies to sit with stories at a gentle, unhurried pace.

A friendly Storyhunter leads the sessions and shares practical tips on making reading with a baby simple and fun, followed by a relaxed bit of Shared Reading for grown ups. Expect cuddles, the occasional page being used as a teether and the chance to swap tips with other sleep deprived bibliophiles.
