Picture Christmas Eve with snow drifting outside and a cosy fire casting shadows over the tree and its pile of presents. Midnight chimes and suddenly youre whisked into a topsy-turvy fairy tale where toys shake off their stiffness, the Mouse King rallies his squeaky army for a scrap with the Nutcracker Prince, and everyone dashes through the Land of Snow to a spot where the oddities pile up.

Its the Varna International Ballet take on The Nutcracker, unfolding near Liverpool on 1 October 2026, because apparently mice and dancing soldiers dont care its not December.
